Our story began with a deep bond between a young girl and the outdoors, but it was forged in the fire of personal loss. During the pandemic, we adopted our first dog, Lambsie. When she passed away from undiagnosed diabetes, our grief turned into a mission. I became a Clinical Nutritionist to ensure no other pet parent had to feel that helplessness.

Since 2020, we have fostered over 180 dogs, along with cats and a growing family of ducks. We’ve welcomed the biters, the barkers, the sick, and the seniors. We’ve seen the transformative power of a safe backyard and a nutritious meal. Now, we are asking for your hand in ours to ensure this mission continues long into the future.

 

Our Mission

Pawla’s Pets is dedicated to rescuing and caring for animals in need, including dogs, rabbits, and ducks. Our backyard is becoming a nonprofit kennel to provide a safe haven for animals, especially those abandoned or facing euthanasia. We aim to create a space where animals can thrive, with ample room to roam and play.

 

Our Vision

To expand our impact, we’re transforming our backyard into a fully equipped sanctuary. We need:

• Improved fencing to allow multiple dogs from different shelters to play safely together.

• Kennels for secure nighttime housing.

• Enhanced habitats for rabbits and ducks, including safe spaces for them to raise their young.

• Supplies to support the unique needs of each animal.

 

With these upgrades, Pawla’s Pets will provide a nurturing environment for animals who need it most, ensuring they live with dignity and joy while we find them loving forever homes.

 

Why We Do This

Every animal deserves a chance to feel safe and loved. From our first rescue, a sad and abandoned dog, to the rabbits we’ve taken in, we’ve seen the transformative power of care. Despite losses due to our backyard’s exposure to predators, we’re committed to creating a secure space to save as many animals as possible.
